Breast Augmentation Considerations
Regardless of who you choose to perform your breast augmentation, there are some important things you should discuss with your doctor in preparation for the procedure. Meet with the surgeon at least two or three times prior to surgery to get all your questions answered. Topics to discuss with your surgeon include:
- Sizing, implant placement and incision type
- Risks and benefits of surgery
- Expected outcomes
- Recovery time and pain to be expected
- Cost of surgery (including implants, anesthesia, facility fees and surgeon fees)
Most plastic surgeons’ websites, including this one, contain lists of frequently asked questions. Print out a copy and supplement it with questions of your own. The most important thing is to make sure all your questions are answered prior to surgery so that the surgery and recovery process go as smoothly as possible.
Dr. Bahram Ghaderi is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also known as a plastic surgeon that Chicago doctors frequently recommend to their patients, family and friends.
